Incorporation is not the real decision

Questions about legal form, domicile and banking appear early in almost every Swiss market-entry discussion. They matter, but they are not the starting point. The first question is whether a Swiss operation has a clear commercial purpose.

That purpose might be winning local customers, employing a team, leading a regional business or building trusted access to partners. Once the role is clear, structure decisions become much easier.

Think in operating terms

A sound decision defines what will happen in Switzerland, who will lead it, which resources are available and what must be achieved in the first 12 to 18 months.

  • The specific business to be built
  • Why a Swiss entity is the right route
  • Leadership and operating substance
  • The location that fits the activity
  • Setup and ongoing cost, not only incorporation cost

Go, no-go or adjust

A professional assessment does not always end with a yes. A no-go can protect capital and management time. An adjust can point to a smaller start, a different location or a staged build.

Only after that decision should legal, tax, fiduciary, banking and corporate-officer questions be turned into a concrete setup plan.
